About Grendel Pipes

I started making Grendel Pipes in May of 2023, and have worked for nearly a year to perfect this art form. Each pipe is carefully crafted not only to appeal to the eye but also for a smooth draw and functionality. These pipes are made by commission, and can be customized, though it is important to note that a more customized pipe may or may not dictate a longer wait depending on the requests.

In the beginning models of my pipe, I shaped my serpent heads by free hand but was not satisfied with my work. I was very fortunate to become acquainted with an artist in Greece who courageously took on the challenge of replicating one of the famous serpent heads discovered in the Oseberg Excavation in Norway. Smoke is inhaled from the lower stem which is made of acrylic, just as it would be from any pipe. After the inhalation, the smoker then has the option to exhale the smoke into the upper stem that is made of wood and decorated with runes, which causes smoke to puff from the serpent’s mouth. I personally like to slowly exhale the smoke to steadily creates curls of smoke through the serpent’s mouth and even the occasional smoke rings.
